HOW DOES DUAL DIAGNOSIS TREATMENT WORK?
At Touchstone Ranch Recovery Center, we first perform a comprehensive health assessment to ensure our clients have accurate diagnoses. The presence of mind-altering chemicals, such as alcohol or drugs, can have a dramatic effect on a person’s mood and behavior; therefore, we treat those with addiction or alcoholism as their primary diagnosis.
When there are indicators of possible dual diagnosis, it is much more apparent once any illicit or addictive substances are removed from all systems of the body, through medical detoxification.
We are an integrated care facility, which means, our inpatient clients meet with addiction psychiatrists and other Master’s level mental health professionals for assistance in diagnosing and treating co-occurring disorders.
For best practice and case management, we work together with designated professionals, while sharing medical and clinical information and updates regarding each client’s progress; and as a team, we help our clients find the most efficient route to effective treatment and long-term recovery.
HELP IS AVAILABLE FOR CO-OCCURRING CONDITIONS
People with co-occurring disorders may have a substance use disorder that involves drugs or alcohol combined with a mental health illness, such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or other conditions. Treating these disorders concurrently with specialized care is critical in achieving optimal outcomes.
